OK, setting Modes to "1600x1200" does  not work - the screen blanks as
before.  I don't know if tweaking sync rates etc. might fix it, but as
it stands it does not work.  Latest conf and log attached.

OK, that's clear. Can the bogus size data be fixed with a quirk too?
