[RFC] glx: fix DRI2 memory leak

Considering the large amount of discussion and the complexity of the 
issue itself, can I suggest that a large comment with all the salient 
points from this discussion is put in the code here as part of the final 
patch?

(also it would probably be a good idea to post this final patch and 
comments to:

where the previous patches/comments were also posted)
