Set Xkbd

Hi,
I am currently making tests with xorg 7.2. on gentoo-catalyst livecd 
based on.
So fare I user xorg 7.1 and could set XKbd with a script during the boot.
I note that when setting FR keyboard, I get FR keyboard within shell (or 
bash) but not within X !
Editing var/log/Xorg.0.log, I see US keybord as been set.

How can I change this during the boot process, please ?
Witch file do I need to modify so it takes my change ?
