Hello,

it seams I got the same problem like Constantin. I build a multimedia system based on an AMD Geode. In my case a Geode LX 800. I also connected an LCD TV to view movies with it. The movies are playing very well, but I get tearing effects on movements. I think this is because the VGA output is not vsynced/blanked to the display. During my search I found something in the xserver-xorg-video-amd documentation about VBI an vsync. But these options seams not to be valid for xserver-xorg-video-geode.

So the question, is it possible to add vsync/blanking features for VGA into the driver? Or do I just missing something in my xorg config?

@Constantin:
I also can't set my resolution to 1360x786 but my LCD TV does a great job on interpolating and bluring the image. With a normal viewing distance you should see a big difference.

P.S.: I made a photo of the effect. I think there should be no doubt that this is a classical tearing effect.
My Photo:
http://img113.imageshack.us/img113/7431/tearingorshuttereffect.jpg
