I did the following:<br></font></div><div><div style="font-family: Tahoma; "><font class="Apple-style-span" size="2">1. attach gdb to running X process.<br></font></div><div style="font-family: Tahoma; "><font class="Apple-style-span" size="2">2. issued gdb command c (continue).</font></div><div style="font-family: Tahoma; "><font class="Apple-style-span" size="2">3. Logged out of kde.</font></div><div><font class="Apple-style-span" size="2"><font class="Apple-style-span" face="Tahoma">4. Issued gdb continue command every time a new signal was caught.</font></font></div><div style="font-family: Tahoma; "><font class="Apple-style-span" size="2">5. Used ctrl-c to get the gdb prompt once X fell to rest.</font></div><div style="font-family: Tahoma; "><font class="Apple-style-span" size="2">6.
