I'm not exactly sure what problem you are asking about here. xorg.conf is still supported by the xserver, it just has not been required in a while. If you are using KMS, you need to make sure you have a recently enough ddx, mesa, and libdrm. Also, some distros package the ucode used by the GPU separately so you may need to install the linux-firmware package depending on your distro. This page may be of help:<br>
