Based on here
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RadeonDriver and the release notes of Lucid,
I guess that 10.04 used KMS, not UMS.

I have 10.04 still installed in my laptop. Is there a way to check if KMS is
been used?

And if so, I'm completely unfamiliar with bisecting the kernel. Could you
please give me more instructions about what does it mean and how to do it?
