ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 - Overheat issue

Hi there,
I am writing to point out an issue I've been having for a while and
that I have now been able to relate to the ATI open source driver. My
ATI card is: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570.

The problem is that when using the open source driver the CPU/computer
temperature gets higher (about 10 °C higher) than when using the
propietary driver. However, I can't use the propietary driver on my
favourite distro and, what's more, I get far better performances with
the open driver(complimenta to whoever has been working on it!).

Now, I'd like to know if this is a known issue and if I can somehow
help to solve it.
