And I'm agree with you, as I said earlier.

But, this patch try to fix coding style inconsistency in xrandr.c.
As a side effect, it will act as workaround for the problem reported 
as bug #12958. 

The other patch I sent today remove some dead code in xrandr.c.
And here again, as a side effect, it will circumvent the problem
reported in bug #12958.

So, in the end, they're only cosmetics patches on xrandr, not fixes for
a broken foreign library.
